Official Launch Meeting Held for Dubai 3×200MW Parabolic Trough Solar Thermal Power Station Operation and Maintenance Project

On April 20, 2020, Qingdao Huachen Weiye successfully convened the kickoff meeting for the operation and maintenance (O&M) guidance project of the Dubai 3×200MW parabolic trough solar thermal power station. The meeting was chaired by Zhu Benguo, Project Manager of the Dubai O&M Project Department and Chief Engineer of the company. Attendees included Wei Huazheng, General Manager of the company; Liu Yongge, Executive Deputy General Manager; Deputy General Managers Sun Yanjiang, Dong Guoshen, and Cao Wei; as well as heads of relevant headquarters departments.

The meeting reviewed the project department’s comprehensive report on the O&M preparations for the Dubai 3×200MW parabolic trough solar thermal power station and formulated specific arrangements for subsequent project implementation.

General Manager Wei emphasized that the Dubai project marks the first collaborative initiative since the merger and restructuring with Shanghai Electric, stating, “This project must achieve nothing less than complete success.” He instructed the project department to meticulously prepare and plan in advance, while urging all headquarters departments to provide proactive support to ensure seamless execution.

Executive Deputy General Manager Liu underscored the importance of thorough technical preparations and rigorous multi-dimensional project controls throughout the implementation process.

The Dubai Solar Thermal Project, with a total capacity of 700MW solar thermal and 250MW photovoltaic (PV) hybrid power generation, comprises one 100MW solar tower unit and three 200MW parabolic trough units. Qingdao Huachen Weiye is responsible for the O&M of the three 200MW parabolic trough units and the plant photovoltaic power station. The successful execution of this project will elevate the company’s standing in the global solar thermal market, signifying a major milestone in its technological and operational capabilities
